I remember watching “Yan Can Cook” in New Jersey many years ago on TV. Sweet Sour Pork is one of the best. That show inspired me to take a chinese cooking class that met once a week for 15 weeks. I still cook my favorites, but I am having trouble find the ingredients in Jacksonville. One ingredient in particular used in making Steak on a Stick was a jarred sauce added to the mixture that gave it a spicy finish, It was brownish in color and spelled Saday Sauce. Not Sate sauce it was spelled with a D. Can anyone help me to locate that sauce?

In reply to Mimi Chung. If you cook the rice in a covered saucepan (not a rice cooker) and slightly overcook until there is a dry but white crust in the bottom of the pan, this is what you deep fry according to the directions.

Why does that Chinese sausage look raw? Cooked Chinese sausage wouldn’t have visible gobs of white fat.

In the recipe ingredients it does not mention BQ pork , but it’s mentioned in step 3 of the recipe? How much of the pork?

I was looking for this recipe for a long time.
It seems what I had in L.A long time ago.
I want to make it.
But you don’t have any direction or how to make video
For the rice crusts.
I saw some of videos but all different.
I like your s looks white and clean .
Please send me information how to make perfect rice crust.
This soup is special because you are using rice crusts
So flavourful .
